TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org
DATE: SATURDAY, 11 JUNE 2022
So, as a follow up on yesterday’s subject matter, where one of the readers of Times of Refreshing Online Daily Devotional reacted and said, “Sir, I know friends are good too, but to what extent can a person flee from a bad friendship?” Beloved, we’re not saying every friendship is bad. Some friendships are good, while some were great for a season.
SCRIPTURE: He who walks with the wise will become wise, but the companion of fools will be destroyed. (Proverbs 13:20 BSB)
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: Any friendship that does not build you up, does not inspire you to greatness, nor encourages you to reach your dreams in life is a bad friendship. And you must avoid it. Some friendships started on a good course, and at some point, it’s gone sour. It has served its season, you’ve now come up higher, you’ve grown and stepped into a new level. That doesn’t mean that the other person is not a good person, but you’ve outgrown that friendship. I’m not saying you never speak to them again, no. They are not your enemy, but little by little you need to spend less and less time with them.
But I have discovered one thing in us, even when we found that the friendship has gone sour, yet we remained in it. We don’t want to upset people, we don’t want them to feel bad. But hear this, what you’re not willing to walk away from, is where you’ll stop growing. So please be wise. Stay Refreshed!
NOTE THIS: Fulfilling your purpose in life and destiny is paramount. So, don’t let anything rock it, not even a bad friendship.
RESPONSIBILITY: So again, be careful of the people you hang around and spend your time with. Positively evaluate your friendships.
PRAYER: O LORD, help my life. Take it away from me, anything that would be a stumbling block to my growth in life, in the name of Jesus’ Amen! (Go ahead and pray for other intentions as the Spirit leads)
PROPHETIC WORD: May the Lord take away from you anyone or anything that stunts your growth and blocks your progress in life, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
BIBLE TEXTS: Proverbs 13:20; 22:24
