What is the fate of a soldier in battle without a gun, or a knight rushing into war without a sword? This is the fate of a Christian without the living word of God in them. The word of God must be living on the inside of us as Christians. We must pick up our sword of the spirit which is the word of God to wage war against the wicked forces contending with our destiny

SCRIPTURE: …take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. (Ephesians 6:17) NLT.

REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: Our only weapon of offence is the word of God and we must pick it up and saturate our spirit with what God is saying. Our victory over the enemy is heavily dependent on our depth in the word of God.

Our enemy, the devil is a very strategic and calculated trickster. Jesus defeated him with “it is written.” The devil only fears the revealed word of God in the heart of a believer. He often tests the quality of a believer’s understanding of his rights as provided by the scripture before he attacks. To stand and resist him, we need to be filled with the word of God. It is the word of God that we have taken time to consume and fill our spirit man with, that the Spirit of the Lord lifts as a standard against the enemy when he comes in like a flood (Isaiah 59:19). If we are word-empty, there is no standard for the Spirit of the Lord to lift up against the devil.

Beloved, I counsel you today, get into the word. Let no day pass without you looking into the scriptures. Fill yourself up with the bullet of the word so whenever the enemy strikes, even in our dreams, we strike back from the arsenal we have already stored up. Stay lifted.

RESPONSIBILITY: Make a personal word study timetable today and ask the lord for grace to stick to it and receive access to higher dimensions of revelation.

PRAYER: O LORD, help me to stick to my word study timetable faithfully from today, in the name of Jesus’ Amen! (Go ahead and continue to pray)

PROPHETIC WORD: May the LORD help you and give you the grace to study the Word faithfully, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
