OPENING THE DOOR TO JESUS (1)
Times Of Refreshing Daily Devotional www.thefountspring.org
Date: Friday, 22 November 2024
Focus: Hearing His Knock
The Advent season is a powerful reminder that Jesus came to dwell among us, knocking on the door of our hearts, waiting for an invitation to come in. “Opening the Door to Jesus” means surrendering every part of our lives to Him, making space for His presence, and allowing Him to transform us. Just as there was no room in the inn on the night of His birth, our hearts can sometimes be too crowded with worries, distractions, or sin to welcome Him fully. This devotional series is an invitation to reflect, repent, and joyfully open the door to the Savior, letting Him reign in our hearts this Advent and beyond.
Scripture Reading:
Revelation 3:20 – “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.”
Refreshing for the Day:
Jesus patiently knocks at the door of our hearts, longing to be welcomed in. His knock is gentle but persistent, and it’s up to us to respond. Often, we’re so consumed by the noise of life—work, responsibilities, distractions—that we fail to hear Him. Advent is a time to quiet our hearts, listen for His voice, and recognize His invitation to dwell with us. So, beloved, take time today to listen for the voice of Jesus. Quiet your mind and heart through prayer or worship, and ask Him to show you areas where He’s knocking. Reflect at the end of the day on how His gentle knock brought you closer to Him. Stay Refreshed!
Note This:
Jesus will never force His way into our hearts—He knocks, but we must open the door.
Responsibility:
What areas of your life is Jesus knocking on today? How can you respond to His invitation?
Prayer:
O Lord, help me to hear Your knock and respond with a heart ready to welcome You. Come into every area of my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
Prophetic Declaration:
I declare that my heart is open to Jesus. I hear His knock and welcome Him into every part of my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
