OH LORD, HELP MY LIFE (1)
TIMES OF REFRESHING DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org
DATE: TUESDAY, 30 JULY 2024
Beloved, in the quiet moments of our lives, when the weight of our burdens feels almost unbearable, and the weight of our struggles presses heavily upon us. We find ourselves whispering this, heartfelt plea: “Oh Lord, help my life.” This plea is more than just words; it is the cry of a soul yearning for divine intervention, guidance, and sustenance. It is an acknowledgment of our limitations and an expression of our faith in the boundless power of God.
SCRIPTURE: “I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.” — Psalm 121:1-2 (NIV)
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: In our Scripture focus, the Psalmist reminds us that our help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. This powerful declaration shifts our focus from our problems to the One who holds the universe in His hands. When we seek God’s help, we are not merely asking for a temporary fix to our issues; we are inviting Him into the very fabric of our lives. Stay Refreshed!
NOTE THIS: Life’s journey is unpredictable and often daunting, but we have a steadfast Helper in our Lord. By continually seeking His help, we align ourselves with His divine purpose and power.
RESPONSIBILITY: So, dearly beloved, as we go forth, let us carry this truth in our hearts. We are never alone, and we are never without help. God’s presence is with us, His power is within us, and His love surrounds us. In every situation, let our cry be, “Oh Lord, help my life,” and let our faith be steadfast, knowing that He is faithful to respond.
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, I come before You with a heart full of gratitude and a spirit of humility. I acknowledge that I cannot do this life on my own. I need Your help. In my moments of weakness, be my strength. In my confusion, be my wisdom. And in my turmoil, be my peace. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
PROPHETIC WORD: May we live each day in the assurance that our help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth, who is ever-present and ever faithful. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
