OH LORD, BRING BACK YOUR GLORY
TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org
DATE: TUESDAY, 8 MARCH 2022
The glory of God has left the world. Because of our sins, God has turned away His face and will not listen anymore (Isa 59:2). Our hands are soiled with sin, our hearts full of evil and wickedness, and our mouth spews corruption. No wonder we pray, but heavens do not answer (Micah 3:4). But, beloved, until we cry, “O Lord, bring back Your glory”, we may continue to search for light but find only darkness.
SCRIPTURE: Listen! The Lord’s arm is not too weak to save you, nor his ear too deaf to hear you call. It’s your sin that have cut you off from God. (Isaiah 59:1-2) NLT
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: Over two thousand years ago, our Lord Jesus Christ went through the horror of the Calvary and redeemed the glory of man from the shackles of darkness (Isa 53:5), and restored it upon men, so that anyone who believe in Him shall be saved (Jn 3:15). But what do we have today? People delight in evil, no one cares about being fair and honest. Our lips are full of lies, we desecrate the places of worship with deceit, pretence, and false religious rituals.
No wonder this long list of wretched sins makes God angry and forces Him to look the other way. But for the sake of the blood of Jesus, the blood that speaks better things (Heb. 12:24), it still speaks for us. So, we must in all sincerity humble ourselves, confess our sins (James 5:16), and cry to God for mercy and He shall bring back His glory upon our lives, our families, and the church (Isa 60:1). Stay Refreshed!
NOTE THIS: The glory of God is the manifesting presence of God. So, the absence of glory in one’s life is the presence of calamity.
RESPONSIBILITY: Cry to God in prayer to bring back His glory upon your life, your family and the church.
PRAYER: O LORD, bring back Your glory. Bring it back in my life and in the church, in the name of Jesus’ Amen! (Go ahead and continue to pray)
PROPHETIC WORD: As the glory of God comes upon you today, may it rests upon you all the days of your life, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
BIBLE TEXTS: Isaiah 59:1-2
