O LORD, SAVE ME FROM MYSELF (5)
TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org
DATE: SUNDAY, 9 JULY 2023
So, beloved, when we surrender our self-reliance and place our trust fully in the Lord, His intervention becomes our steadfast assurance. And one more and sure way to achieve this feat is to embrace our identity in Christ (Zeph 3:17). Through our plea for salvation, we are reminded of our identity as children of God. We are not defined by our flaws and shortcomings but by the immeasurable value and purpose God has given us. In Christ, we find the strength to overcome our weaknesses and live in alignment with His truth and righteousness. We can now relate why the apostle Paul wrote in Romans 7:24-25; he said,
SCRIPTURE: “What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death? Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord!” (Romans 7:24-25 NIV)
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: So, when we ask the Lord to save us from ourselves, we are met with His unwavering love and abundant grace. God’s desire is not to condemn us but to redeem and restore us. He offers forgiveness for our past mistakes, heals our wounded hearts, and transforms us into vessels of His love and mercy. Stay Refreshed!
NOTE THIS: In Christ, we find the strength to overcome our weaknesses and live in alignment with His truth and righteousness.
RESPONSIBILITY: So, beloved, surrender your life and self to Jesus today, and trust in His care and guidance. Recognize that only through Him does true transformation happen. Yield your will to His, seek His wisdom and direction in every aspect of your life. Trust that He is faithful to save you from yourself and lead you on the path of righteousness.
PRAYER: Gracious Lord, I come before You with a humble heart. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit, that I may sow seeds of righteousness, kindness, and selflessness. Help me to prioritize Your will above my own desires, that Your character may be reflected in my thoughts, words, and actions, in Jesus’ name, Amen!
PROPHETIC WORD: As you embrace Christ in your life, you’re a new creation. The old self is crucified, and the Spirit of God dwells within you. May the Lord guide you on the path of righteousness, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
