O LORD, SAVE ME FROM MYSELF (3)
TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org
DATE: FRIDAY, 7 JULY 2023
So, beloved, it has been established that when we surrender our self-reliance and place our hope in God, His intervention becomes our steadfast assurance. Now, let us explore sure ways we can achieve this feat. One convinced way is to acknowledge our inherent brokenness (Psalm 51:17). When we cry out, “Oh Lord, save me from myself,” we recognize our human frailty and the brokenness that resides within us. It is an admission that we need a Savior who can rescue us from the destructive patterns and tendencies that hinder our spiritual growth.
SCRIPTURE: “What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death? Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord!” (Romans 7:24-25 NIV)
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: Again, we must learn to grow in dependence on God (2 Cor. 12:9). As we cry out, “Oh Lord, save me from myself,” we recognize our need for a deep, abiding relationship with God. Our dependence on God grows as we rely on His wisdom, strength, and guidance in every aspect of our lives. In surrendering to His will, we experience the freedom that comes from trusting in His perfect plan. Stay Refreshed!
NOTE THIS: Our dependence on God grows as we rely on His wisdom, strength, and guidance in every aspect of our lives.
RESPONSIBILITY: So, beloved, while you rely on God’s saving grace, it’s important to take personal responsibility for your actions, thoughts, and choices. Acknowledge areas where you struggle and actively seek growth and change.
PRAYER: Gracious Lord, I come before You with a humble heart, acknowledging my weaknesses and the ways in which I have fallen short. I surrender my desires, my plans, and my self-centeredness into Your loving hands. Help me to release control and trust in Your divine guidance, in Jesus’ name, Amen!
PROPHETIC WORD: I declare that the Lord hears your cry for deliverance from yourself. And cause His saving grace to transform you, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
