O LORD, FORM ME UNTIL I BECOME LIKE THEE (3)
TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org
DATE: FRIDAY, 30 JUNE 2023
Again, beloved, if we truly want God to shape and transform us to become like Him, we must seek to grow in the likeness of Christ. You see, our ultimate desire is to become more like our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. As we invite God to form us, He conforms us to the image of His Son (Romans 8:29). It is through the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit that our character is transformed, and we exhibit the fruits of the Spirit. Which the apostle Paul talked about in (Galatians 5:22-23).
SCRIPTURE: But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law. (Galatians 5:22-23 NIV)
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: Growing in the likeness of Christ is not merely an outward imitation of His actions, but a deep transformation of our hearts, minds, and character (Rom. 12:2). It’s to embody the likeness of Christ, by reflecting His love, compassion, humility, and grace in every aspect of our lives (2 Cor. 3:18). And allowing His nature to be manifested in our thoughts, words, and actions. Even as we become the vessels through which His light shines brightly, drawing others closer to Him (Matt. 5:16). Stay Refreshed!
NOTE THIS: To embody the likeness of Christ is to reflect His love, compassion, humility, and grace in every aspect of our lives.
RESPONSIBILITY: So, dearly beloved, let us daily seek to grow in Christlikeness,
PRAYER: O LORD, help my life. Give me the grace to grow in Christlikeness all the days of my life, in Jesus’ name, Amen!
PROPHETIC WORD: As you make efforts to grow in Christlikeness, may the nature of Christ manifest in you and all that you do in life, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
BIBLE TEXTS: Galatians 5:22-23, Romans 8:29, Matt. 5:16
