NO MORE EXCUSES (2)

TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org

DATE: WEDNESDAY, 14 JULY 2021

Yesterday we established that excuses are rooted in fear and laziness and that excuses lead to stagnation. Today we will be exploring the cost of making excuses that lead to disobedience to God’s instructions. Today also, we must decide to put an end to the reign of excuses in our lives.

SCRIPTURE: And another said, ‘I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to examine them. Please have me excused.’ And another said, ‘I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.’ (Luke 14:19-20) ESV

REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: Excuses are the bedrock of stagnation and delay to answered prayers. Stop the excuses today and start living to your fullest.

God may be leading you to do something that may not make sense, do not say “I don’t understand so I cannot do it.” God may even give an instruction that seems scary or too big and out of fear or laziness you make an excuse as to why you cannot carry it out. What you may be unaware of is that in that instruction lies your breakthrough, next level, and answer to your prayers and until you carry out that instruction, you will remain at the current level.

So Beloved, if you have been praying about something and it seems God is not answering, go back and check if you have fully carried out the last instruction, He gave to you, because He will not show you the next step until you complete the current step. Stay lifted.

NOTE THIS: Excuses are the bedrock of stagnation and delay to answered prayers.

RESPONSIBILITY: Make a sober reflection and you will remember instructions God gave you long ago that you are yet to obey. Get up now and begin to act on them.

PRAYER: O LORD, as you help me today, I make up my mind to stop the excuses and begin to act, in the name of Jesus’ Amen! (Go ahead and continue to pray)

PROPHETIC WORD: May God bless your effort, even as He adorn you with the garment of grace to be obedience in carrying out His instructions, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!

BIBLE TEXTS: Luke 14:19-20.
