NO MORE DRY ALTARS: REKINDLING THE FIRE OF PRAYER AND WORDHIP (2)

Times Of Refreshing Daily Devotional

Date: Thursday, 17 April 2025

Focus: The Sacrifice Still Matters

Message:

Many altars have grown cold, but God is calling us to repair and relight them. This series awakens fresh hunger and daily devotion.

Key Verse:

📖 1 Kings 18:30 – “Elijah repaired the altar of the Lord that had been torn down.”

Devotional:

After Elijah repaired the altar, he didn’t just stand there—he placed a sacrifice upon it.
In the Old Testament, fire never fell on an empty altar. It always fell on sacrifice. Today, God is still looking for altars that have something costly laid upon them. Your modern-day sacrifice isn’t bulls or goats—it’s your heart. It’s your time, your obedience, your surrender, your worship when it hurts, and your prayers when you feel dry. The fire of God falls where lives are truly laid down. No sacrifice = No fire.

đź“– Scripture Reading:

Romans 12:1 – “Offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.”
Psalm 51:17 – “My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart You, God, will not despise.”

đź’§ Refreshing for the Day:

Real revival costs something. It costs pride. It costs convenience. It costs apathy. But what you place on the altar, God sets ablaze with His glory. So, beloved, the question today is simple: Is there something on your altar? Or are you expecting fire to fall on an empty place? Revival is not for spectators. It’s for sacrificers. Ask the Holy Spirit today: “Lord, what are You asking me to lay down on the altar?” It might be pride. It might be fear. It might be distraction. Offer it. Lay it down. There will be no fire without sacrifice. Stay Refreshed!

✨ Note This:

An empty altar will always stay cold.

🛡️ Responsibilities:

  1. Identify one thing you need to lay down today as your offering to God.
  2. Physically write it down as an act of surrender and pray over it.

🙏 Prayer:

Lord, I will not come empty-handed. Today I lay my life, my dreams, my fears, and my distractions on the altar. Burn away what hinders, and ignite what glorifies You.
Here I am, Lord—consume me. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

🔥 Prophetic Declaration:

My altar will not be empty! I lay my life down in worship, and Heaven’s fire falls on my sacrifice. I am fully surrendered, and I will burn for Jesus! Amen!

đź“– Bible Texts:

1 Kings 18:30, Romans 12:, Psalm 51:17
