LIVING FOR A REASON (3)
TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org
DATE: THURSDAY, 4 AUGUST 2022
The next level of our destiny is connected to living for a reason. Yes, this is true. When we live for a reason; sincerely and passionately helping others to achieve what they could not achieve on their own, it opens channels of blessings, favor and abundance in our lives. It catapults us to a place where we could not get on our own. And that was the instance of David in 1 Samuel 17. David was out in the shepherd’s fields taking care of his sheep. When his father asked him to take lunch to his brothers in the army in another city. The Bible recorded, he immediately left everything he was doing and decided to take care of his brothers’ welfare.
SCRIPTURE: ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ (Matthew 25:40 NIV)
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: Note that, David could have refused. He could have said, “Dad, that’s not my business, mine is to tend to the sheep”. But he agreed to it and took the lunch to his brothers at the war with the Philistines. That small act of obedience, doing something kind for his brothers, going out of his way to be good to them is what led to his destiny, and eventually to the throne. So, beloved, don’t discount the small things you can do for people. Live for a reason. No matter how little it may be, it can lead to big blessings. Just like David, your breakthrough in life could be found in the reason. Stay Refreshed!
NOTE THIS: When you stand up for those that can’t stand, helping them to rise higher, you will see giants fall down for you.
RESPONSIBILITY: So, sincerely look out to live for a reason. Put a shelter over someone’s head today and be the reason why people are happy.
PRAYER: O LORD, cause me to live for a reason, in the name of Jesus’ Amen! (Go ahead and pray for other intentions as the Spirit leads)
PROPHETIC WORD: As you help others to rise higher, may God lift you into abundance, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
BIBLE TEXTS: Matthew 25:40, 1 Samuel 17
