LETTING GO AND MOVING FORWARD (1)
Times Of Refreshing Daily Devotional
Date: Saturday, 11 January 2025
Focus: Letting Go of the Past
Message: The new year is a time to let go of the past and press forward into God’s promises.
So, as we step into a new year, it’s easy to carry the weight of the past with us—mistakes, failures, disappointments, or even past successes. The Apostle Paul reminds us in Philippians 3:13-14 that moving forward requires us to intentionally let go of what is behind. Clinging to the past can hinder our progress in the race God has set before us.
Letting go doesn’t mean forgetting or pretending the past didn’t happen. It means surrendering it to God and refusing to let it define your future. Whether it’s guilt over sins, regret over missed opportunities, or reliance on past achievements, God calls us to release those burdens to Him. His grace is sufficient to cover your past, and His plans are far greater than anything you’ve left behind.
Scripture Reading:
Isaiah 43:18-19 – “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?”
Refreshing for the Day:
Beloved, take a moment to identify what you need to let go of—past mistakes, guilt, or even pride in past successes. In prayer, surrender those things to God and trust Him to lead you into the new things He has for you. Stay Refreshed!
Note This:
Letting go of the past clears the path for God’s new work in your life.
Responsibility:
What is one thing you need to surrender to God today to move forward?
Prayer:
O Lord, I release my past to You—my mistakes, regrets, and even my successes. Help me to trust Your plans for my future and to walk forward in faith. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
Prophetic Declaration:
I declare that the past has no power over me. I let go of what is behind and step boldly into the new things God has prepared for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
Bible Texts:
Isaiah 43:18-19, Philippians 3:13-14
