Again, beloved, another beautiful lesson we need to reflect on and learn from the journey to Bethlehem is the humble setting of the town. We could caption it “The unexpected beauty of ordinary places.” Bethlehem teaches us that even in the humblest of places, God’s divine purposes unfold, and His presence transforms the ordinary into the extraordinary. Any wonder, the apostle Paul said this in 1 Corinthians 1:27,
SCRIPTURE: “But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.” — 1 Corinthians 1:27 (NIV)
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: Bethlehem, though a simple and humble place, a seemingly ordinary town, became the birthplace of the King of kings. What a scenario to reflect on? This is amazing. It echoes the transformative nature and power of God. God often chooses the seemingly insignificant to accomplish His extraordinary purposes. He often selects the unexpected and the humble to reveal His greatness. Stay Refreshed!
NOTE THIS: God’s presence has the power to take ordinary situations, objects, or individuals and transform them into something extraordinary, displaying His glory and divine intervention.
RESPONSIBILITY: So, let us reflect on how God often chooses the seemingly insignificant to accomplish His extraordinary purposes. And subject it to how can we find contentment and purpose in the simplicity of our own circumstances?
PRAYER: O LORD, as we journey through life in this advent season, teach us to be humble, and transform our hearts, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
PROPHETIC WORD: And may the transformative power of God come upon us now and always, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
