TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org
DATE: WEDNESDAY, 20 DECEMBER 2023
Yesterday, we started looking at “The lessons of patience and perseverance” in the journey to Bethlehem. And we learned that patience is a Virtue. It is not merely the ability to wait; it is the grace to maintain a positive attitude while waiting. Now, let us explore more about the subject matter. Patience and perseverance are learning in process. They teach us that the journey is as important as the destination. It is in the process that character is refined, and faith is strengthened.
SCRIPTURE: ” …weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.” – Psalm 30:5 (NIV)
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: Patience brings contentment. It allows us to find peace and joy in every season, knowing that God is at work, even when the harvest is yet to come. While perseverance builds endurance. It is the muscle that allows us to withstand life’s challenges and keep moving forward, step by step. It is the refusal to give up, knowing that breakthrough often comes just when the night seems darkest. Stay Refreshed!
NOTE THIS: The journey of patience and perseverance is not always easy, but it is one that leads to growth, resilience, and a deepening trust in the God who is faithful through every step of the way.
RESPONSIBILITY: So, as we navigate the journey of life, let us cultivate the virtues of patience and perseverance, knowing that we are not in control, but we trust the One who is.
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, as we journey through life in this advent season, teach us how to cultivate patience and perseverance and trust in You, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
PROPHETIC WORD: As we grow patience and trust in God, may our characters be refined and our faith strengthened, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
