IN HIM, I FIND REST
TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL
DATE: TUESDAY 9 FEBRUARY 2021
Are you weary and over burden? We all pass through unpleasant situations: pushing through some career to another in effort to make ends meet, depending on friends who would eventually abandon us. In all these, we are hurt and heart broken. But I found rest in Christ Jesus.
I heard the voice of Jesus saying to you, “Come unto Me and rest; Lay down your burden, you that are weary, lay down your head upon My breast.” He said, “I’m aware of all you’re going through; I lend my shoulder, come place all your worries and you will find rest. (Matt 11:28; emphasis added).
Are you thirsty and dry? Jesus says, “Behold, I’m the living water, I’m free and available to all who are thirsty; come, stoop and drink to your satisfaction, the water of life. I came to Him, my thirst was quenched, my soul revived, and now I live in Him, (John 4:14, with emphasis).
SCRIPTURE:
Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him, (Psalm 62:5) NIV
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY:
I found in Christ a resting place, and He has made me glad.
Living and having abundant life in Christ guarantees rest in Him. The key to having abundant life in Christ is living by God’s grace through faith. The rest of God is not a rest from work—it’s a rest in work. It’s partnering with God to do what He is calling you to do by His grace, and leaving the part you can’t do in His hands, trusting Him to do it.
Beloved, when we try to do everything in our own strength and leave God out of the equation, we just get worn-out and frustrated by our mistakes and failures. But when we lean on God, we actually enter into His rest and can enjoy our lives, no matter what our circumstances may be. Stay Refreshed!
NOTE THIS:
I found in Christ a resting place, and He has made me glad.
