IF MY PEOPLE WILL CRY OUT TO ME (2)
TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org
DATE: SATURDAY, 16 MARCH 2024
But then, beloved, what does it mean to cry out to the Lord? It goes beyond mere words uttered in desperation or despair. It requires a posture of humility, a willingness to acknowledge our need for God’s intervention, and a recognition of His sovereignty over every situation.
SCRIPTURE: “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” – 2 Chronicles 7:14 (NIV)
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: Crying out to the Lord involves prayer – heartfelt, fervent, and persistent prayer that lays bare our deepest fears, our greatest burdens, and our most fervent desires before His throne. It is a cry for help, a plea for guidance, and a declaration of trust in God’s unfailing love and faithfulness. Stay Refreshed!
NOTE THIS: When we cry out to the Lord in this manner – with humility, with prayer, with seeking, and with repentance – we can rest assured that He hears us, that He forgives us, and that He heals us.
RESPONSIBILITY: So, dearly beloved, let us genuinely run to God today and confess Him as our Lord and savior and submit to His Lordship.
PRAYER: O LORD, as we come before Your throne today, we humbly acknowledge and confess our sins, our shortcomings, and our failures before You, guide us in path of righteousness, that we may seek Your face with all our hearts and turn away from our wicked ways. In the name of Jesus, we pray, Amen!
PROPHETIC WORD: As we cry to God today, may He give us the strength to resist temptation, to flee from sin, and to walk in obedience to His Word. In the name of Jesus, Amen!
BIBLE TEXTS: 2 Chronicles 7:14
