HOPELESS WITHOUT CHRIST (2)
TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org
DATE: FRIDAY, 11 AUGUST 2023
Life without Christ is like a ship adrift in the stormy sea of life, its sails torn and its crew exhausted. It battles against the relentless waves, struggling to find its way. But with Christ in our lives, our hope is guaranteed, and our confidence is sure. Yes, it’s true. Christ is the anchor that holds us firm in the midst of the tempest. Without Him, we are tossed about by the winds of misery and despair, our course uncertain and our destination unclear. Any wonder, the Lord says in Isaiah 43:2,
Bottom of FormSCRIPTURE: “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.” (Isaiah 43:2 ESV)
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: So, beloved, when we acknowledge our need for Christ, we admit our inadequacy without Him. Jesus Christ is the light that guides us through the darkest nights. He’s our refuge in times of trouble, and the beacon of hope that rekindles our spirits when all seems lost. Stay Refreshed!
NOTE THIS: Christ is the anchor that holds us firm in the midst of the tempest. Without Him, we are tossed about by the winds of misery and despair, our course uncertain and our destination unclear.
RESPONSIBILITY: So, dearly beloved, during life’s storms, let’s come before Christ, acknowledging that He’s the anchor that holds us firm.
PRAYER: O LORD, when the winds of uncertainty blow and the waves of despair threaten to engulf us, may we anchor our souls in You, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
PROPHETIC WORD: Just as the Lord calmed the stormy seas with a word, may His presence calm our anxious hearts and guide us through the challenges we encounter in life, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
