GOD’S WORD BRINGS LIFE (2)
TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org
DATE: THURSDAY, 4 MAY 2023
So, beloved, whatever your needs could be, the answer is in God’s Word. Yes, you see, God’s Word is spiritual medicine for our soul—it’s what we take to get better (Psalm 107:20). But, however, it doesn’t just happen, we have a part to play. Let’s take a closer look at the verses of our anchor Scripture once again, (see Proverbs 4:20-22),
SCRIPTURE: My child, pay attention to what I say; turn your ear to my Words. Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart; for they are life to those who find them and health to one’s whole body. (Proverbs 4:20-22 NIV)
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: And now, let’s take it further verse by verse. The first part says, “my child, pay attention to what I say; turn your ear to my Word”. To pay attention means that we look at God’s Word, read and study it, ponder over it and always pray with it. We do this and continue to do it over and over again. And it doesn’t stop there. Next it says, “Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart”. In other words, we shouldn’t just know God’s Word, but we should also do what it says we do. Stay Refreshed!
NOTE THIS: The Bible won’t help us just because we have it sitting on our bed and around our houses. It’s up to us to read it, study it, and apply it to our lives.
RESPONSIBILITY: So, dearly beloved, don’t just own a bible, I encourage you, own it, study it and apply it to every area of your life you may need God’s help.
PRAYER: O Lord, give me the grace to read your Word, study it and apply it to my life, in Jesus’ name, Amen!
PROPHETIC WORD: May the Word of God heal you and bring life upon you and your family, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
BIBLE TEXTS: Proverbs 4:20-22. Psalm 107:20
