GO BACK TO YOUR ROOT
TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org
DATE: SUNDAY, 18 SEPTEMBER 2022
Beloved, have you ever wondered why evil is on the rampage around the world today? Wickedness and calamity have grown legs and they walk freely around the nooks and crannies of our society. Dishonesty, duplicity, and immorality are now the order of the day. We have ignorantly left and abandoned our root and have turned to mere stems. Nudity and nakedness are being celebrated. The churches and prayer houses have become social clubs and motivational residences. We struggle and impoverish to succeed, yet we are depleted. But there is a way out. Just one way out. We must go back to our Root! Look at what the Bible says in Jer 17:6 about those who have left and abandoned their Root. It says,
SCRIPTURE: “They are like stunted shrubs in the desert, with no hope for the future. They will live in the barren wilderness, in an uninhabited salty land.” (Jer 17:6 NLT)
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: This is a serious matter and must be handled with all urgency. This is the reason why we pray but it seems heaven has turned deaf hear. And too many troubles have befallen us, we’re so impoverished and spiritually weak. But when we go back to our Root, loving and trusting in God, we shall have strength and have it in abundance (Isaiah 40:31). We shall walk and fly and never get tired. We shall be like trees planted by the riverbank with roots that reach into the water (Psm 1:3). We shall be fruitful and never stop producing fruits (Jer 17:8). But who is our Root? Jesus is our Root! Stay Refreshed!
NOTE THIS: Just like every tree that would succeed must have a strong root, Jesus is our strong Root, in Him we shall succeed.
RESPONSIBILITY: So, beloved, let us go back Jesus, our Lord and Master, He is our Root.
PRAYER: O LORD, help my life, take me back as I am, for You’re my Root, in the name of Jesus’ Amen! (Go ahead and pray for other intentions as the Spirit leads)
PROPHETIC WORD: May the Lord help your life and bring you back to Himself, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
BIBLE TEXTS: Jer 17:6-8, Psm 1:3, Isaiah 40:31
