FOLLOW PEACE WITH ALL MEN (2)
TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org
DATE: MONDAY, 12 SEPTEMBER 2022
So, one sure way to follow peace with all men is learning how to control our emotions and stay out of strife. Yes, this is so true. Strife is another word for quarreling, arguing or a heated disagreement, and it carries an angry undercurrent. Strife is extremely dangerous. It can destroy marriages, families, relationships, and even churches. If it isn’t stopped, it will continue to go from person to person, causing all kinds of problems and unnecessary pain. So, the Bible says,
SCRIPTURE: If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. (Romans 12:18 NIV)
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: Surprisingly, the people we usually disagree with the most are the ones we care the most about―our spouses, family members, close friends, colleagues and even brethren. Have you ever been around someone who’s pretending everything’s okay, but you can tell that on the inside they’re furious and seething with anger? Or rightly put, have you ever been that person? That’s why I said this matter is an acidic test for all of us. And we must handle it with caution and ask God to bring healing into our relationships and make it better. And to achieve that, we need to partner with the Holy Spirit, our helper.
However, beloved note that, this matter is not to judge us, nor condemn us, rather it’s to reset our relational mindset with people. To put us in check and continually guard and gauge our attitude and behavior with others as it borders to the Scriptural standards. Stay Refreshed!
NOTE THIS: Unless the Holy Spirit helps a man, he can never follow peace with all men.
RESPONSIBILITY: So, ask the Holy Spirit to help you and give you the grace to follow peace with all men.
PRAYER: O HOLY SPIRIT, help my life. Teach me and give me the grace to follow peace with all men, in the name of Jesus’ Amen! (Go ahead and pray for other intentions as the Spirit leads)
PROPHETIC WORD: As you submit to learn this matter to the person of the Holy Spirit, may He always teach you and guide you correctly, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
BIBLE TEXTS: Romans 12:18, Hebrew 12:14
