FINDING REST IN THE ARMS OF CHRIST (4)
TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org
DATE: THURSDAY, 13 JULY 2023
Once again, beloved, finding rest in Jesus means admitting that we can’t do it all on our own. It means humbly recognizing our need for help and support. When we come to Jesus, we discover a loving Savior who carries our burdens for us. He lightens our load and gives us the strength for every moment. When we trust our burden to Him, He guides us, comforts us, and gives us the true wisdom we need. Any wonder, the prophet Isaiah declared in chapter 26:3; he said,
SCRIPTURE: “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast because they trust in You.” – Isaiah 26:3 (NIV)
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: So, today beloved, when life feels overwhelming, hear Jesus’ gentle voice calling to you: “Come to me, all you who are burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). Take a moment to pause, breathe, and surrender your worries to Him. Trust that He cares for you deeply and will provide the rest your soul craves. In Jesus’ loving arms, you will find the comfort, peace, and rest that you need. Stay Refreshed!
NOTE THIS: As we respond to Jesus’ invitation and find rest in Him, let us also remember that this rest is not just for our own benefit. It is an invitation to enter into a loving relationship with our Creator, who desires to walk beside us and guide us every step of the way.
RESPONSIBILITY: Ask God for the grace to surrender to Him completely.
PRAYER: Dear Jesus, I confess my tendency to rely on my own strength and understanding. Today, I choose to place my trust in You completely. I believe that You are my refuge and my strength, my ever-present help in times of trouble. Help me to surrender my worries and uncertainties to You, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
PROPHETIC WORD: As you surrender to Jesus today, may your find solace in Him, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
