EXPERIENCING INTIMACY WITH CHRIST (3)
TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org
DATE: THURSDAY, 18 APRIL 2024
Experiencing intimacy with Christ is deeply personal and can manifest in various ways for different individuals. However, let’s explore various ways we can experience intimacy with Christ. The first is through prayer. Absolutely! Prayer is a fundamental component of experiencing intimacy with Christ. It’s our direct line of communication with God, where we can express our thoughts, feelings, needs, and desires to Him.
SCRIPTURE: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” — Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV)
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: Prayer allows us to bring everything to God, fostering a relationship characterized by trust, vulnerability, and openness. Through prayer, we seek God’s guidance and wisdom for life’s decisions and challenges. It aligns our hearts with God’s will and opens us to receive His guidance and direction in our lives (James 1:5). Stay Refreshed!
NOTE THIS: Intimacy with Christ is a journey, not a destination. It requires ongoing effort, vulnerability, and a desire to grow closer to God each day. And prayer is one sure way to go about it.
RESPONSIBILITY: So, beloved, establish a consistent prayer practice where you talk to God openly and honestly, sharing your thoughts, feelings, and desires. This can be done formally or informally throughout the day.
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, thank You for the privilege of prayer, for the opportunity to come before Your throne with confidence. As we bow before You, we surrender our hearts, our desires, and our concerns into Your loving hands. Fill us afresh with Your Spirit, that our prayers may align with Your will and bring glory to Your name. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
PROPHETIC WORD: As we engage in prayer, we’re stepping into divine alignment with God’s purposes for our lives. We declare that our prayers are heard, and as we seek God’s face, He will answer us and show us great and mighty things that we do not know. In the name of Jesus, Amen!
