EBENEZER: THUS FAR THE LORD HAS HELPED US

Message: Reflecting on God’s faithfulness throughout the year, we acknowledge His presence and provision, knowing He will continue to guide us.
Beloved, as the year comes to a close, we are invited to pause and reflect on God’s faithfulness. In 1 Samuel 7, we find Israel at a moment of victory and remembrance. After God delivered them from the Philistines, Samuel set up a stone and named it Ebenezer, which means “stone of help.” This stone was a visible reminder of God’s faithfulness, a declaration that it was by His help they had come this far.
Like the Israelites, we too can look back and see God’s hand in our lives—His provision, protection, and guidance through every high and low. Perhaps there were challenges that seemed insurmountable, yet God made a way. There may have been times of waiting, but He was faithful to show up right on time. Ebenezer is our declaration as well: Thus far the Lord has helped us.
As we reflect on the past year, let us also look ahead with confidence. The same God who has brought us through is faithful to guide us into the new year. Ebenezer isn’t just a marker of the past—it’s a reminder that God’s help is ongoing. He doesn’t abandon us when seasons change or challenges arise. Instead, His grace carries us forward, His presence goes before us, and His promises remain steadfast.
Scripture Reading:
1 Samuel 7:12 – “Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen. He named it Ebenezer, saying, ‘Thus far the Lord has helped us.'”

So, dearly beloved, take a moment today to reflect on how God has helped you throughout the year. Write down specific ways He has shown His faithfulness—answered prayers, unexpected blessings, moments of strength, and times of peace. Thank Him for His presence and provision, and ask Him to give you confidence as you step into the new year. Stay Refreshed!

O Lord, thank You for being my Ebenezer, my Stone of Help. As I look back on this year, I see Your faithfulness in every season. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
