DON’T SETTLE HALFWAY

TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL

DATE: SUNDAY 14 MARCH 2021

We all have great visions, aspirations and promises God has spoken to us: “I will complete my Ph.D. in Medicine in few months”, “By this time next year, I would have established my company and be an employer of labor”. “As soon as she’s graduated, I will get married to her”. Wonderful! However, in the course of fulfilling those dreams, we may encounter roadblocks and barricades, and we may begin to re-evaluate them. “Does it really worth it?”, “What if this and what if that?”

Many great dreams are dead and buried holding to the fact that, things didn’t happen the way we planned. Yes, life is full of ups and downs, but that wouldn’t be enough reason for us to give in and settle halfway.

SCRIPTURE: Terah took Abram his son and Lot the son of Haran, his grandson, and Sarai his daughter-in-law, his son Abram’s wife, and they went forth together from Ur of the Chaldeans to go into the land of Canaan, but when they came to Haran, they settled there. (Genesis 11:31) ESV

REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: The enemy can’t stop the purpose of God upon your life, but he’ll do his best to convince you to settle halfway.

From our anchor scripture, we saw Abraham’s father, Terah, set out to go to Canaan’, the land of abundance. But Terah never made it: “but when they came to Haran, they settled there.” Though the scripture didn’t record why he stopped halfway, but finally Terah decided they couldn’t go any farther, so they settled where they were comfortable.

Beloved, if you’re going to become all you were created to be, unlike Terah, determine to get to your Canaan. You must consciously resolve that you’ll never settle halfway. The way may be stony, bumpy and rough; there might be lots of obstacle along, but no matter what they may be, throw it aside and keep going. It may be taken longer than you thought, but the good news is, it’s not too late, you may begin again. That which God has promised you is still on the way, so don’t settle halfway. Stay Lifted!

NOTE THIS: The enemy can’t stop the purpose of God upon your life, but he’ll do his best to convince you to settle halfway.

RESPONSIBILITY: You have to make up your mind that you will never settle halfway, no matter what may come your way. Be dogged and ask God for the grace for persistence.

PRAYER:  O LORD, help me not to settle halfway of your promises in my life, in the name of Jesus’ Amen! (Go ahead and continue to pray)

PROPHETIC WORD: I speak upon your life the grace for persistence, RECEIVE IT NOW! in the name of Jesus, Amen.
