So, having established that trials and hard times reveal who we are and what we really believe. We also said that sometimes God allows us to go through difficulties in life because it’s during those times that we grow in our faith and develop more of the character of Christ. So, here are few pointers to help us overcome trials and hard times.
SCRIPTURE: No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. (1 Cor. 10:13 NIV)
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: So, the number one pointer to overcoming tests, trials and hard times in our lives is to seek God’s strength. In those times, we can be tempted to revert back to old behavior, habit or addiction. That’s why some persons who had quit smoking, would go back to it whenever they got upset, or felt pressured by something. Some would seek solace in alcohol. But at the end of it all, it would never resolve hard times, rather it throws one into deep calamity. But when we seek God’s strength in our trying times, God will always provide us the way out, the means of escape to a landing place.
So, dear friend in Christ, my counsel is, when temptation comes, run to God! Ask Him to strengthen you in that area and help you to keep moving forward. We shall continue with other pointers tomorrow, but till then, likes always, Stay Refreshed!
NOTE THIS: The strength of God shapes the will of man to sustain grace in times of trouble.
RESPONSIBILITY: So, beloved, hold resolutely to the faith we profess, for He who promised is faithful (Heb. 10:23).
PRAYER: O LORD, MY GOD, cause me never to grow cold in my faith in You, in the name of Jesus’ Amen! (Go ahead and pray for other intentions as the Spirit leads)
PROPHETIC WORD: May you never grow cold in your faith and trust in God, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
