Spiritual malnutrition is a serious condition that happens when one’s spiritual life does not contain the right amount of spiritual nutrients needed to carry on in life, living above sorrows and trials of this world.
It is spiritual epilepsy that strips many Christians of their spiritual privileges and makes them easy prey to circumstances.
SCRIPTURE:
For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. (Romans 8:6) KJV
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY:
When your spiritual life is sound and healthy, your mental and emotional base are sound.
Human nature compels us to focus almost totally upon the physical- what to eat and drink. And fail to understand that a neglect to one’s spiritual life is a blow to life. Leading a good and abundant life, is dependent on how nourished one’s spiritual life is.
SIGNS OF SPIRITUAL MALNUTRITION
1. Losing interest in prayer/ Prayerlessness.
2. Continuous sluggishness to study the word.
3. Eventual backsliding.
When the body cries out for food, one feels emptiness in the stomach, weakness in the muscles, and even sleepiness. If it goes on long enough, a faintness and headache may arise. Same it is with the spirit, when malnourished either from deprivation or a harmful diet (wrong doctrine), the gradual reaction in life is detrimental and disastrous.
DANGERS OF SPIRITUAL MALNUTRITION
1. Lack of Divine immunity and providential supply. (Phil 4:19)
2. Access to the attack of the devil is created.
3. Vulnerability to defeat and schemes of satan.
4. Fruitlessness, struggling, backwardness and stagnation
HOW TO NOURISH YOUR SPIRITUAL LIFE
1. Fortify yourself in the word of God by studying the scriptures daily.
2. Take enough dosage of the word, and meditate on them.
3. Develop a strong and steady relationship with God.
4. Renew your faith daily through the word.
NOTE THIS:
When your spiritual life is sound and healthy, your mental and emotional base are sound.
RESPONSIBILITY:
Balance your prayer life, and do not neglect the gathering of the brethren.
PRAYER:
Oh God, give me the grace to nourish my spiritual life, in Jesus’ name, Amen! (Go ahead and continue to pray)
PROPHETIC WORD:
May God help you and let His face shine upon you, in the name of Jesus, AMEN!
