So, beloved, another individual in the Bible who exhibited great courage and conquered his fear is Joshua. Joshua succeeded Moses as the leader of the Israelites, and displayed tremendous courage when he led the people into the Promised Land. He had to conquer fortified cities, face formidable enemies, and deal with the challenges of leadership.
SCRIPTURE: “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” — (Joshua 1:9)
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: The account of Joshua’s leadership exemplifies courage, obedience to God’s commands, and faith in God’s promises. He trusted in God’s guidance and led the Israelites to fulfill their mission of conquering and settling in the Promised Land, a journey that was fraught with challenges and battles. Joshua’s story is a testament to God’s faithfulness and the importance of remaining strong and courageous in the face of adversity. Stay Refreshed!
NOTE THIS: God’s repeated assurance to Joshua to “be strong and courageous” empowered him to overcome his fears and fulfill his mission.
RESPONSIBILITY: So, beloved, just like Joshua, let us hark to the assurances of God in His Word and ask Him to give us the courage to face and overcome our fears.
PRAYER: O GOD, give us the grace and courage just like Joshua, to face and overcome every difficulty in our lives, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
PROPHETIC WORD: As the Lord helps us, may we remain strong and courageous in the face of adversity, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
