COMMITTED TO THE CALL (2)
Times Of Refreshing Daily Devotional
Date: Thursday, 30 January 2025
Topic: Committed to the Call (2)
Focus: Overcoming Distractions and Excuses
Message: A new year is a fresh opportunity to commit wholeheartedly to God’s call and purpose for our lives. Just as Paul pressed on toward the goal, we too must run with perseverance, surrendering to God’s will and embracing the journey He has set before us.
Key Verse: Philippians 3:14 – “I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”
One of the greatest hindrances to fulfilling God’s call is distraction. The enemy will use busyness, fear, comparison, and even comfort to keep us from fully walking in our purpose. Moses doubted his ability, Jonah ran from the call, and Martha was too distracted to sit at Jesus’ feet. But God calls us to stay focused and press on.
Excuses will always arise—”I’m not qualified,” “I don’t have time,” “What if I fail?” But God does not call the qualified; He qualifies the called. The moment we set our hearts to obey Him, He supplies the strength, wisdom, and grace we need. This year, choose to overcome every distraction and excuse and commit fully to the call of God on your life.
Scripture Reading:
Luke 9:62 – “Jesus replied, ‘No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.'”
Refreshing for the Day:
So, beloved, identify distractions or excuses that have kept you from fully obeying God’s call. Write them down and intentionally commit to overcoming them through prayer and action. Stay Refreshed!
Note This:
Distractions and excuses will always exist, but they must not define your journey. Your obedience is key to fulfilling your purpose.
Responsibility:
What distractions or fears do you need to overcome to commit fully to God’s call?
Prayer:
O Lord, I lay down every excuse, fear, and distraction. Strengthen my heart to follow You wholeheartedly, knowing that Your grace is sufficient for my calling. In Jesus; name, Amen!
Prophetic Declaration:
I declare that nothing will hold me back from fulfilling God’s call on my life. I am focused, determined, and empowered by the Holy Spirit. In Jesus; name, Amen!
Bible Texts:
Philippians 3:14, Luke 9:62
