COME AS YOU ARE (7)
TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org
DATE: WEDNESDAY, 4 OCTOBER 2023
So, in conclusion beloved, “Come as you are” is a typical demonstration of God’s profound beauty of love. Yes, this is true. The parable of the prodigal son encapsulates its essence. It shows that God’s invitation is not dependent on our past actions, but rather on our willingness to return to Him in humility and repentance. We don’t have to clean ourselves up before coming to God; He accepts us in our brokenness and sin. And the Bible says in Luke 15:20,
Bottom of FormSCRIPTURE: “So he got up and went to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.” – Luke 15:20 (NIV)
