CHRIST IS OUR HOPE
TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org
DATE: WEDNESDAY, 18 AUGUST 2021
One of the worst things that can happen to a person, especially a believer is the loss of hope. Hope is the greatest need of mankind and our generation. Many persons in our society today, particularly our young people have lost hope and that’s why many of them are rebelling and turning to drugs, alcohol and other things. They see no hope as they look into the future. A future that is clouded with sounds of war, betrayal, killing and political massacre, and the fear of the pandemic.
But I have come to tell you that, when everything seems impossible, and the whole world has turned against you, don’t worry for Christ is our hope.
SCRIPTURE: The LORD takes pleasure in those who fear Him, In those who hope in His mercy. (Psalms 147:11) NKJV
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: The absence of hope is misery, anguish, and yet hopelessness. Hopelessness leads to a sense of meaninglessness, and it’s disastrous.
There is a strong relationship between hope and faith. They are intermingled, and it’s impossible to have one without the other. Hope is often the result of faith. It’s believing that a positive outcome is possible even when there is some evidence to the contrary; while “faith is the substance of things hoped for”, (Heb. 11:1). However, in any case, we all need to live our lives with a healthy sense of anticipation (hope), and Christ is our hope.
This sense of anticipation found in Christ is what motivates us to tarry in the midst of hardships and to wait on God for our breakthroughs. But when we live outside Christ, we are hopeless. Living becomes a chore instead of a blessing. So Beloved, I counsel you to keep hope alive in Christ. Remember, life is worth the living because Jesus lives. Be Hopeful, and Stay Lifted!
NOTE THIS: The absence of hope is misery, anguish, and yet hopelessness. Hopelessness leads to a sense of meaninglessness, and it’s disastrous.
RESPONSIBILITY: Run to Christ today, and build your hope in Him.
PRAYER: O LORD, now I know that You are my Hope. Give me the grace to build my hope always in You, in the name of Jesus’ Amen! (Go ahead and continue to pray)
PROPHETIC WORD: May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace, that you may abound in hope, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
