BUT GOD HAS A PLAN
TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL
DATE: TUESDAY 2 MARCH 2021
More often than not, we talk ourselves out of what we know God is telling us to do. Sometimes it seems ordinary: you’re asking God for the fruit of the womb, He is saying, “Help that your neighbor’s child, visit and spend time with the children at the orphanage”. You are trusting God for financial breakthrough, He is saying, “Feed the poor, visit and give alms to the prisoners”. You’re asking God for a healing, He is saying, “Pray for others for healing”. You’re asking God for a life partner, He is saying “Go and clean the church, embark on community evangelization”.
Thoughts will tell you; this doesn’t make sense at all, what has all these got to do with your simple request? You may begin to say, “I asked God for my own child and not to be a nanny to my neighbors”. “I prayed for a husband and not to be a church cleaner”. But God has a plan.
SCRIPTURE:
We can make our plans, but the LORD determines our steps, (Proverbs 16:9). NLT
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY:
Many times, the answer to our needs is tied to our obedience to God’s plan.
At the wedding in Cana (John 2:1-12), the wine finished, and Jesus’ mother ran to Him and asked Him to provide the wine. Jesus told the staff at the wedding to go fill up the large pots with water. They could have said, “Jesus we need wine, not water. What good is this going to do”? But they had to do something that didn’t make sense. And their obedience is what brought the miracle. Without them filling the water pots, there would be no wine.
Beloved, is God asking you to do something that doesn’t make sense? To pray for others that need healing, when you’re still not feeling well? Is he asking you to feed the poor, visit the homeless? Hear this, it’s not so much what you’re doing, it’s the obedience. God always has a plan. When you prove to God that you’re going to do what He asked you to do, even when it doesn’t make sense, then you’re going to see God do awesome things in your life. Stay Lifted!
