ANTICIPATING THE ARRIVAL OF HOPE (9)
TIMES OF REFRESHING ONLINE DAILY DEVOTIONAL www.thefountspring.org
DATE: FRIDAY, 15 DECEMBER 2023
Successively, beloved, as we journey through the beautiful season of advent, let us reflect on “the mystery of incarnation.” The incarnation stands as one of the most profound mysteries of the Christian faith, encapsulating the moment when the divine took on human flesh. It is an unparalleled act of divine condescension, where the creator entered His creation, experiencing life in the human form, sharing in our joys, sorrows, and struggles. And the Bible beautifully captures this very act in Philippians 2:6-7, it says,
SCRIPTURE: “Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to His own advantage; rather, He made Himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.” — Philippians 2:6-7 (NIV)
REFRESHING FOR THE DAY: So, reflecting the mystery of incarnation should lead us to worship. It calls for a response of gratitude and praise, recognizing the magnitude of God’s love demonstrated through this divine act. We shall continue tomorrow. Stay Refreshed!
NOTE THIS: The mystery of incarnation is not meant to be fully comprehended but embraced with awe and wonder. It invites us to stand in reverence before the unfathomable reality of God becoming human for the sake of humanity.
RESPONSIBILITY: So, beloved, as we reflect on this mystery, may it deepen our appreciation for the depths of God’s love and inspire a transformative response in our lives.
PRAYER: O LORD, as we reflect on this unfathomable reality, may it deepen our appreciation for the depths of Your love for us, and inspire a change in our lives, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
PROPHETIC WORD: And may the love of Christ come upon us and remain in us all the days of our lives, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
